Generally, the softer the ground, e.g. typical March/April conditions, the square, dome and bullet-shaped studs are going to be useful. Whereas when the ground is hard and/or slippery, the smaller and more pointed studs will be better! 2. The smaller the horse/pony, the smaller the stud. In general, you want to use the smallest stud you can get away with to reduce the stress on the horse?s tendons. 3. I have had a long winter full of training and have learnt so much to take through to this coming season. I started the season at Tweseldown and had to double clears and have also been Cirencester which was an educational run in the intermediate and Cobra came 10th in the novice . This season I have lots planned with Max doing a couple of 3*S and hopefully doing his first 3*L at Hartpury in August. Cobra is seven this year so hoping to do seven-year-olds at hospital and he will step up to intermediate before that and do a couple of 3*S. very exciting and busy season ahead, fingers crossed for a successful season. https://www.supastuds.com/Update_from_Brand_Ambassador_Freddie--post--12.html 12 2022-04-29 19:49:23 0 It?s been a very relaxed Winter for me as I?ve only had one horse in work. Cheeky who went from BE90 to CCI2S last year has spent the majority of the winter season show jumping and getting that all important Dressage practise in. We?ve recently started training with Adam Kemp who has put an entirely different spin on dressage for me and has transformed my way of training the horses. We?ve had a good run of show jumping with Cheeky who?s got her newcomer clears for 2022 and will be stepping up to Fox in her next few outings. For me I?ve been keeping up my fitness routine under the watchful eye of Shaun T (Insanity). And I?ve also subscribed to Piggy TV to get all the insights in how to prepare for the up and coming season. More recently I have welcomed a new horse to the team a lovely 6y/o by Chilli Morning - she?s a great asset and I?m very excited to get to know her and get out and about. We?re off XC schooling tomorrow for our final preparation before we start at Moreton BE100 and then hopefully make the step back to Novice. https://www.supastuds.com/Georgie_Williams_Preseason_Training_2022--post--11.html 11 2022-04-05 17:50:42 0 The last few months of pre-season training has been substantially minimised for my main event horse, Ronnie, due to suspected ulcers. The few weeks off ridden work didn?t stop our pre-season training, having regular trips to the water treadmill to maintain and develop his muscular strength, as well as treatments by In Hand Equine Osteopathy to ensure he was in peak condition ready for pre-season training once he was back feeling on form! Within just a few weeks of gastric treatment he was feeling much better and our pre-season training was under way, including a trip to the gallops last week, a gridwork session and U18 South East XC training at Tweseldown! I have been focusing predominantly on dressage with 14hh Barney this winter season, progressing up to BD Advanced Medium with many successful results including placing 2nd and 5th at the BD Area Festivals, as well as being chosen to represent England at the Pony Club Dressage Championships at RWHS in May! As well as this, Barney?s pre-season training has been well underway with treadmill sessions, fitness hacking, gridwork and arena XC schooling.
